Mask Making Recognition and Thank Yous...

August 17, 2020

Good morning Karen,
On behalf of Heritage House, I would like to thank you and your fellow sewers at the Quilting Society for your generous donation of the handmade facemasks. Your contribution will help outfit our residents with masks to keep them protected in these dangerous times. As you know, our population is amongst the most vulnerable, and safety is our primary concern. Your selflessness and willing to help those in need in our local community is heartwarming. If there is anything that Heritage House is able to help you or the Quilting Society with, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Warmly,
Philippe de L'Arbre

Hello Karen & Company!

I can’t thank you enough on behalf of the residents and staff at Maravilla for the 119 fabulous masks. I had a ball yesterday afternoon and well into last evening (and I will continue today) asking our residents and staff members if they want a mask or two.  I had no idea that there were so many different ways that a mask could be made and more importantly, everyone has their favorite way of wearing their mask.. Some love the ties, some love the elastic behind the ears, some love both!  The fabrics are fantastic and I would like for you to pass on our heartfelt thanks to your wonderful and very talented team of quilters.  The residents and staff here at Maravilla are extremely grateful!

Please be sure you all take care and stay healthy!

Until Next Time – All Good Things,

THANK YOU and the dedicated quilters so very much—what a difference they are making!

The doll cradle bedding is a highlight of every single tour we give and more importantly, one of the most popular items for little children to select.

Your talents and caring have made so many people happy, and we look forward to many more years of sharing your handiwork.

Gratitude and optimism,

Dear Karen,
On behalf of all of us at UCP WORK, Inc., I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the donation of 300 cloth masks handmade by the Quilters Guild members.
As you are aware, it's challenging for a nonprofit agency to obtain these mask supplies currently. Your donation enables our staff to safely continue supporting the people we serve, and our Direct Support Professionals love their unique personal cloth masks! We value your commitment help the local community and helping us to make a positive impact in the lives of persons with disabilities. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely yours,

Judy Linares
Executive Director

Hi Karen,
I’ve attached a couple pics I took at our all staff meeting. We found it impossible to get any really good pictures due to social distancing, but we want to give you some sense of how quickly staff put the masks to use and how grateful we are. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. People have commented on the quality of the work and the obvious care and craftsmanship that went into them. Stress and anxiety have been high, partly due to the daily risk staff are facing. The masks have contributed substantially to giving everyone a sense of safety and control.
Heartfelt thanks from all of us to your whole team!

Hello again Karen,
Thank you again so much for the donation, the staff are all wearing them around the clinic and complimenting each other on the colors and different styles.

As far as the feedback you requested about sizes and style preferences: the staff seem to like the “cup” style and the adjustable/tie straps.  Also the smaller bandana style is popular.  The assorted sizes are good, some staff have smaller faces and they were able to select smaller sizes/styles, I think our clinic is primarily staffed with women, so the smaller ones were a great fit.  That’s the feedback I have gotten so far about fit/sizing.
And of course, everyone says a big “Thank You” to you and the group!
