Chalk one up for the Guild--again for
the 8th time
Memorial Day weekend
was the 22th year for i
Madonnari, the Italian Street Painting Festival
that helps support the Children's Creative Project, a nonprofit
arts education program of the County Education Office.
The project sponsors fine arts programs in the schools for
more than 66,000 children.

The drawing for our 2002 Opportunity quilt was
held at our December meeting. Congratulations to Mary Sanchez
of Thousand Oaks. Thanks to everyone who helped make the quilt,
sold tickets, and of course, purchased tickets! We are pleased
to announce net proceeds of $3,373 for our scholarship fund!
The Opportunity Quilt is a benefit for the Coastal Quilters'
Guild Scholarship Fund.

October 2002
The Guild presented its biennial Quilt Show, Harvest
of Colors on October 12-13, 2002, at the Earl Warren
Showgrounds.

The Coastal Quilters' Guild 2001 Mariners' Compass
Challenge quilts are on display at the Santa
Barbara Maritime Museum at the Santa Barbara Harbor. The
Museum is open Thursday-Monday, 11 am - 5 pm, closed Tuesday
& Wednesday. The 3rd Thursday of every month is FREE TO
THE PUBLIC.

The CQG Board planned a Quilters' Retreat at Rancho La Sherpa.
It was a memorable weekend of sewing, eating, sewing, talking,
and sewing. We look forward to another retreat soon. For larger

December 1999
The Guild presented over 100 Christmas Stockings to Transitions
House along with the Community Quilts that have been made
this year. Transition House is the charitable organization
that the Guild selected for 1999. |
