On Our Way a special exhibit presented by Fibervision
Pacific International Quilt Festival XX
10/13/2011 - 10/16/2011
Santa Clara, California
Fibervision is a group of California artists from Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties who meet once a month to share and support artistic creation and exploration in fiber art. On Our Way is about the various journeys of our lives. Some of these pieces are about actual trips or vacations; some are about the more elusive journeys and growing pains we’ve found on our artistic, spiritual, health or emotional paths. Perhaps you’ll spot something familiar in your life odyssey in our work. Fibervision can be contacted at www.fibervision.org.

Come explore the amazing world of natural colors as you create unique textiles of silk and cotton. Focus will be on learning the differences between dying the two fibers. We will explore local plants such as avocado and peach trees, extracts like osage, madder and logwood; and vegetables from the farmers market like cabbage and carrot tops. We will play with safe mordants like alum, acorns, sea water and wood ash. Discover the beautiful colors of nature!
