About the quilt:
Our 2023 Opportunity Quilt was donated by longtime member Suzy Pelovsky. The quilt was designed by Jenny Byer and was a Craftsy Block of the Month in 2015 that was created in partnership with RJR Fabrics; the class with taught by Ms. Byer. Suzy pieced the quilt and the quilting was done by Janis Meloy. The winner of the quilt was our current president, Barbara LaPlante. Below is a picture of Barbara with the quilt spread out in her guest room.

Tickets were sold at $5 each or five for $20 and the winning ticket was picked on December 14, 2023. Ticket sales were coordinated by Sue Kadner, Carol Fay and Marcia Greiten.

PS: There was a duplicate of the quilt at Road 2California 2024 that was made by Jan LaGrone and quilted by Tracy Harris from San Diego. Jan called the quilt Peggy’s Dream. Quoting her description: “At an estate sale I found the fabric kit for the Jinny Beyer BOM via Craftsy. There was no pattern, just a picture. On the Internet, I found the pattern and began the challenge to my skills. When finished I knew I had to find a professional to quilt it and Tracy did an amazing job.” The quilt was for sale for $2500.
